Baked Granola
Prep time: 5 minutes
Bake time: 45 minutes
Cool time: 3 hours
Total time: 3 hours 50 minutes
4 cups rolled or old fashioned oats
1/3 cup oil
1/3 cup honey
Sprinkle of cinnamon
Pinch of salt
Vanilla extract (measure with your heart)
3 egg whites
Optional additions (I like to add these after baking into my yogurt bowls so they’re softer)
1 cup raisins/dried fruit
1 cup walnuts/nuts
Preheat oven to 280 degrees Fahrenheit
Mix all ingredients well, you don’t want clumps of egg whites in your granola!
Line baking sheet with parchment paper
Spread out granola onto parchment paper
Bake for 45 minutes. Turn your oven off and do not remove until it is completely cooled.
Pro Tip: I bake mine at night and turn off the oven so that it cools overnight and is fresh in the morning. It makes the house smell so warm and lovely first thing in the morning.
I started making homemade granola when I realized how incredibly cheap and easy it was to make it at home. Feel free to play around with this recipe until you find your signature staple for your home.
